Post-secondary study grants

The Kxeen Arts Council (formerly Prince Rupert Community Arts Council) awards two $1000.00 scholarships to graduating students pursuing an education in the area of fine arts: dance, creative writing, music, drama or visual arts. Scholarships must be used within 24 months of graduation. The  scholarship is paid out upon receipt of SECOND semester enrolment in the chosen program.

Timeline:
There is no deadline to submit an application. However, note that the scholarship is paid out upon receipt of second semester enrolment in the chosen program after the student provides proof of registration. Scholarships must be used within 24 months of graduation.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for this grant, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Prince Rupert, or demonstrate significant ties to the community.  Students must be entering or continuing an accredited post-secondary arts-related program.

Requirements:
To be considered in awarding a grant:

  • Applicants should have a demonstrated ability in their particular field of study.

  • Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to share their skills with the community as a participant and/or volunteer in community activities.

  • Applicants should have applied and been accepted to a Fine Arts or arts-related program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
