Residencies at the North Pacific Cannery

The 21-day Long Residency invites professional artists from across Canada to live and create at the historic North Pacific Cannery on British Columbia’s North Coast. Artists receive a $5,000 honorarium, private accommodation, and dedicated studio space to support their practice in this inspiring riverside setting. Throughout their stay, residents are encouraged to share their work and process with the community through a public presentation, performance, or workshop, fostering creative exchange and dialogue in a place rich with history, culture, and natural beauty. Accepting applications between January 1st and March 31st annually.

short residency

The 10-day Short Residency is open exclusively to emerging and established artists living in Northern British Columbia. With a $1,250 honorarium, studio access, and on-site accommodation, artists are encouraged to explore new ideas, connect with the Cannery’s unique environment, and share their work through a public presentation or workshop. This residency provides a focused, supportive space for Northern artists to grow their practice and strengthen regional creative networks. Applications are accepted between January 1st and March 31st annually.
